Together We Can

Our Covid-19 Response

Covid-19 Image

In March 2020, the WHO officially declared the global spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts between communities and citizens to support health workers to prevent the avoidable loss of life.

We recognise that the COVID-19 crisis is not just a health issue but also a socioeconomic crisis; its impact is cross-cutting and raises a number of diverse human rights concerns. We aim provide an immediate response to Human Rights violations with a social emphasis on mitigating the effects of COVID 19 in the UK and Zimbabwe. The activities will make an overall aim of empowering vulnerable communities, especially during this difficult pandemic time.

  • Mobilising campaigns: Initiatives with the potential to improve the economic resilience of workers
  • Advocating equity: Addressing the social consequences of COVID-19 and measures to contain it – such as its impact on immigrant communities, domestic violence
  • Providing access to basic needs: Maintaining access to food, medicine, education and mental health care. This includes the delivery of emergency food/medicine parcels and outreach activities to support vulnerable elderly and isolated individuals in our communities

We’re deeply thankful to all of our wonderful donors who have given generously in the past. We need your support more than ever to ensure continued delivery of our work in these challenging times.

Every donation makes a difference. Read more about becoming a supporter of Dumi International Aid here.
